ABOUT THE TEST
The test BIOME200 combine two tests:
1. myBIOME
Allows you to evaluate, with the best existing technology on the market (shotgun metagenomics), the existence of imbalances in the composition, distribution or functionality of the gut microbiome. In addition, detects pathogenic microorganisms with harmful effects on health and provides personalized recommendations that will help you rebalance your intestinal microbiome.
2. Food sensitivity test A200
The proof evaluates the response of the immune system to proteins present in more than 200 common foods in the Mediterranean diet. Thus, You can individually determine which foods can be consumed and which foods should be reduced., avoid or even eliminate from the diet temporarily.
In order to facilitate the correct interpretation of the results, a video consultation is included 1 hour with a SYNLAB expert. Once your result BIOME200 is available, our Customer Service will contact you to make an appointment with one of our SYNLAB experts.
IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?
BIOME200 is recommended for:
- People with mild or moderate intestinal symptoms (gases, bad digestion, abdominal pain, swelling, diarrhea, constipation…), as well as fluid retention or dermatological alterations of unknown origin
- People already diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome, functional dyspepsia inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease), complementary to medical treatment
The food sensitivity test It is not indicated and cannot be performed in people following immunosuppressive treatment..
It is also not recommended for pregnant women., unless your doctor (or another type of specialist who will
track diet) deems appropriate.
No it is recommended to perform the food sensitivity test in children under the age of 8 years. If parents or guardians
legal rights of children under 8 years wish to take the test, It is recommended that the results be supervised by a
specialist.
This test cannot be performed on minors 12 years without a prescription, which must be included in the kit, as it requires a pediatric professional to approve the recommendations provided due to the complexity of the microbiome at that age. SYNLAB will contact said professional to communicate the results and recommendations provided in the report so that they can transmit it to the minor's parents and provide them with the relevant therapeutic guidelines..
PRELIMINARY CONSIDERATIONS
Stool sample (myBIOME):
- Do not open the aluminum bag with the sampling device until you are ready to take the test
- Do not take antibiotics, antifungals or immunosuppressants during 6 weeks prior to obtaining the sample, except if it is medication for chronic illness
- If you have undergone radiotherapy or chemotherapy treatments, wait at least 6 weeks
- Do not take probiotics during 3 previous weeks to carry out the test
- If you have undergone a Fertility treatment, you must wait 4 weeks
- Do not obtain the sample if there is active bleeding by hemorrhoids or menstruation or if there is a disease outbreak inflammatory bowel
- Maintain regular daily habits (diet and lifestyle) during the 2 previous weeks to carry out the test
- Pick her up sample of stool that is common to you
Blood sample (A200):
- It is necessary to go to a SYNLAB center to take the test
- Fasting required for at least 4 previous hours to take the sample
